Requirements for Studying in Vancouver Public Schools

·         Education is compulsory for children aged 5 to 16. 

·         Student enrollment in Vancouver schools depends on where the individual lives.

·         Vancouver's public schools are free of charge for its residents, including those with permanent residents or work visas. 

·         Schools in British Columbia are divided into two divisions: elementary (kindergarten to seventh grade) and secondary (grades 8 to 12)

The Educational System in Vancouver, British Columbia Schools

Education in schools in Vancouver and throughout the province of British Columbia includes two levels: primary or  elementary (or elementary) and secondary (secondary or high school), which range from preschool to grade 12. Graduation System in British Columbia Schools

In addition, students must successfully pass the 3 assessments required for graduation:

What is the Knowledge Test in Vancouver Schools?

The Literature Assessment or Test is a provincial assessment system that is conducted online and students in the province of British Columbia must pass it successfully to graduate. This assessment measures students' critical thinking and reflective thinking  skills.

This test is not about any particular subject or book. In other words, it evaluates all the skills learned by a student from preschool to 12th grade.

How to Take the Knowledge Level Assessment Test in Vancouver British Columbia Schools

This online exam is held in the following three sections:

·         Part 1 – Thinking critically about the texts

Students must demonstrate that they have the ability to analyze the given texts and answer the questions that are asked. Critical thinking provides students with a window through which to understand and analyze key concepts that are relevant to everyday life.

·         Part 2 – Going beyond the texts

In this section, students answer basic questions by analyzing several passages. These questions provide a framework for students to apply their literary skills. The question asked in this section is different from the first part. Then, at the end of this section, students choose one of the two proposed texts and interpret them in the form of a relatively long written answer. They express.

·         Part 3 – Self-Reflection

What is the IB Education System?

The  International Baccalaureate program prepares students ages 16 to 19 to succeed in college. The program is offered by a number of schools, and families can talk to their child's school counselor to find out if their school district offers such a program.

The program's coursework is divided into six main categories: Language, Social Studies, Experimental Science, Mathematics, and Visual or Performing Arts. In Canada, some courses are recognized as equivalent to university courses, and students may receive first-year credit for courses in the program.

To obtain the certificate, only one IB  course and an external assessment test are required. To obtain an IB Diploma, students must:

·         Take each of the 6 courses offered.

·         Write a 4,000-word essay.

·         They should spend at least 50 hours in the field of creativity and services.

·         They should complete the philosophy of "Theory of Knowledge".

Note: All of these courses are offered in two types:  Standard Level or Higher Level.
